Chapter Fourteen

Looking out of the floor to ceiling window in his condo at the great view of the city, Adonis took a deep breath as he waited for Tazmin to arrive. He had planned for a nice relaxing night, so they could get to know each other. Looking over at the dining room table, he had set with his onyx colored fine china, gleaming silverware, and stemware. The center place was red and white roses, which he had learned were her favorite flowers. Taking a deep breath, he knew that he needed to calm down before he had an anxiety attack.

After the mess with the media, he thought his chances with Tazmin were ruined, but she had taken it with strides. So he had to prove to her that he was very serious about wanting to be with her, and that night was just the start he needed. Walking over to the table, Adonis looked at the clock on the wall and saw that Tazmin would be arriving any minute, so he started to light the candles on the table. Just as he finished, the doorbell rang, “Right on time,” he whispered as a smile spread on his face.

Taking a deep breath as he walked toward the door, and when he opened it, he found Tazmin standing there looking like a Nubian Queen. She was wearing a sexy black cowl neck sweater with black leggings that showed her voluptuous curves under what looked like a short length jaguar print jacket, “Damn!” was all that he could think to say as a smile spread on her face.

“Is that a good damn or a bad damn and I need to go change?” she asked as she stepped closer to him, causing his heart rate to start racing.

Softly grabbing her hand and looking into her eyes, “That was a very good damn and you don’t need to change anything because you look perfect,” he replied as he ushered her into the foyer and closed the door behind them.

Watching her smile as she took off her jacket and then handed it to him, made his day so much brighter.

“You really do have a way with words,” she stated causing him to chuckle.

Leading her toward the dining room, “It’s not hard to tell the truth, and you can believe that I will always tell you the truth,” he replied as he blocked her view of the room.

Looking up at him, “I’m going to hold you to that, because honesty is very important to me,” she said and he knew that he would do anything to make her happy.

“I’ll defiantly remember that, and now I would like for you to see my surprise,” he replied as he stepped aside and watched her eyes light up with happiness.

“Adonis, this is beautiful,” she whispered as she walked closer to the table and caressed the rose petals before she looked over at him.

“You are too good to be true,” she continued as he started to close the distance between them.
